welcome to my anonymous book blog!

hi! i'm jane-anne!

Well, my pen name is Jane-Anne. My real identity will continue to remain anonymous as I venture into the depths of the internet book places using my alter ego. But even though I don't plan on sharing a few legal facts, I still love connecting with the digital book community through authenticity and genuine respect for books, readers, and authors. Every word you'll read here and on my Instagram account is 100% true and honest, I promise.

my story

I grew up in the '90s surrounded by a family of smartypants book people as a total book hater. Well, not hate, per-say, but I didn't like the same kind of stories that the rest of my family did, which always made me feel like I wasn't smart enough. I also was really bad at tests and was bullied a lot as school, which didn't make the learning environment all that fun for me. So I mostly kept to myself and my daydreams, thinking up stories of a new tomorrow.

One summer I went to the library with my family and decided to grab as many books I could from the young adult section, but I only checked out books with pink covers. I went home and spent the next couple of weeks reading all the pink books to help me discover my reading preferences. From there I discovered some of my favorite authors, genres, and tropes and my bookshelf has been expanding ever since, despite the fact that I don't have much space.

Even though I began to dive into worlds unknown within the pages of my new best friends, I never gave up on daydreaming, hobby I've subconsciously kept up on even as I entered my thirties. Those daydreams became stories and I learned that I love writing. Secretly I think I've always wanted to be an author, but I never believed in myself enough to make it happen.

However, I've recently found myself at a career crossroads having just been laid off from my last job that I was beginning to feel lukewarm on. I loved the people, but the work was starting to feel monotonous and I worried that I wasn't growing as a person through the work I achieved there. I kind of think the universe is telling me that this is my chance to explore my love of books even further by dedicating the time that's now opened up on my schedule to reading, writing, and blogging about reading and writing.

Most importantly, blogging, tbh...because (disclaimer!) this blog is not only a fun place where I can share my thoughts with all you amazing people, but it's also my current income generator. With Amazon's affiliate program, I get a percentage commission on every purchase you make through a link on this site. It's not much, but I do appreciate your support!

So once again, welcome to my anonymous blog where I can't wait to connect with you!
