Dashing All The Way

"Tis the season for nice guys..."

The cover of Chelsea Curto's novella, "Dashing All The Way" featuring a pink background with the title in large red letters surrounded by holly, a candy cane, running shoes, a pile of presents, and an ornament in the same color scheme.

SOME SPOILER-FREE THOUGHTS: I love adding a novella into my reading mix when I've hit a slump and I've definitely been in a slump as of late. And wow did this kick my reading butt back into gear! Any book that gets you excited to read even more is just the best of the best, in my opinion...and to be fair, Chelsea Curto just has the inspirational writing superpower that makes me fall in love with reading over and over again. Even with less plot and more spice (her words!) this is a top tier story from a tried-and-true author and perfect for the holiday season!

"Jesus is probably rolling in his grave because of what a ho-ho-hoe I am."

Chelsea Curto can do no wrong in my book and when she announced that she was releasing a Christmas novella that was "more spice than plot" I was still excited to read it just because of how much I love her as an author.

But also, she lied.

Is this book spicy? Yes! 100% Beautifully, beautifully spicy and I loved every second of it. But the entire novella took us through a wonderfully thought out plot line that was equally as impactful, if not more-so, as the power the romance scenes were meant to have. I fell in love with these characters, not because of what they did in private (though that was so much fun to dive into!), but because of the heart she was able to bring out in them in such a short amount of pages.

From the get-go we learn of Margo's determination (and stubbornness...) simply from the fact that she is training to run a half marathon just because an ex-boyfriend she never really cared much about told her she'd never be able to. She did not have any plans to ever see this boy again, and yet she dedicated the time, energy, and effort to prove him wrong for her own satisfaction.

When we meet Finn, he is goofing around with the same buddies he's had his whole life. We learn he was a teen parents (maintaining a great relationship with his son's mother, though they're not together) who is now an EMT that secretly narrates spicy audiobooks. Loyal, responsible, and hot as hell.

So when the two come together, even though Finn knows who Margo is and waits a minute to share this information, sparks are already flying because their qualities are already aligned to bring out the best in each other. They are exactly what they each need.

And when they collide, it's not wonder they can't help but collide over and over again. The magic is so potent that of course Curto needed to include all the spice she could (hello, CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT!).

It was the perfect quick read to ring in the holiday season with a little love and a lot of sweetest kind of spice!

Highly recommend Dashing All The Way by Chelsea Curto—available now on paperback and Kindle Unlimited!

All My Love,

Jane-Anne
