SOME SPOILER-FREE THOUGHTS: I absolutely adored Date with Danger and I was so excited when I heard we were getting a second book featuring both Serena and Liam. I was NOT expecting the all out, action packed, banter filled, page turning masterpiece that I read. I'm one of those people who doesn't see images in their heads, but every twist and turn Jenessa Fayeth took me on with this adventure played out on the pages for me like I was watching a movie. Seriously, someone call Hollywood because this book is basically a ready-to-go action rom com made for all mediums!

Ok, I literally am the worst because I have no words. I can't even come up with actual, tangible thoughts about this incredible book other than the top line gushing I've already done in all my spoiler-free reviews.
Seriously?! Are you kidding me, Jenessa Fayeth?! This book is a masterclass in descriptive and captivating storytelling.
Serena Cruz is an FBI Agent with a secret past she'd rather kept hidden and a current mission to take down international art thief Liam Hawthorne. Just when she has him in her clutches, one of the goons also after him chloroforms her and Liam has no choice, but to save the woman who wants him behind bars. And of course he does just that...by kidnapping her...in a coffin...and taking her out of the country...
We're then met with a whirlwind adventure that I was NOT ready for. I knew there would be action and suspense, but dang was I on the edge of my seat with every page turn! From discovering the intricate layers of the how Serena was set on a mission for Liam in the first place (who WASN'T in on it???) to the reveal of when their paths actually first crossed as kids, I did not see ANY of it coming. And I always see it coming!
But I think the most investing part of the entire story for me was watching these two guarded characters slowly unravel for each other. To watch their internal monologues go from "I want to kill you" to "I will take a bullet for you" was such a beautiful journey and it was truly a journey. None of it felt rushed, none of it felt like misplaced affection. Everything that happened between Serena and Liam was so genuine it hurt seeing them consistently ripped from each other.
Overall, Taken with Trouble by Jenessa Fayeth is perfect for any adventure-loving rom com readers who swoon when he would do anything for her despite the fact that she hates him—even though she clearly doesn't hate kissing him...
