✨ "More often than not, I am okay. But in this moment, I remind myself that it's okay that right now I'm not." ✨
SOME SPOILER-FREE THOUGHTS: After reading A Major Puck Up I was far too invested in the Langfield brothers to not keep going with Aiden and Lennox's story. So glad I did not stop! This was a truly beautiful story of two first loves reconnecting after years of learning who they were without each other, and realizing they could't be who they were meant to be on their own. Loved, loved loved! It even touched on some deeper subject matters like self discovery and depression, but it did so very well, in my opinion, as someone who has dealt with both of those things.

✨ "Years ago, you gave me what I needed by walking away. Let me give you what you need by staying." ✨
She's done it again, folks! Brittanée Nicole has made me fall in love with another Langfield brother while simultaneously rooting for him to get the love of his life.
While Aiden and Lennox's journey was slightly less chaotic than Gavin and Millie's it was still just as captivating to read, with different layers involved in their timeline.
The second chance aspect with him trying to win her back after she broke his heart all those years ago was dessert enough for me, but then incorporating a fake dating / engagement / marriage scheme in order for her to get her inheritance, forcing him to move in with her asap, and them deciding faking a relationship didn't have to mean celibacy was just a *chef's kiss* cherry on top!
Then incorporating the deeper layers of the two characters—Aiden's struggle with depression and Lennox's struggle with sense of self—and how they needed each other to finally have someone to open up to; to finally have someone who they felt would always love them no matter what they were going through. It was so beautiful!
And of course, we got the fun cameos by all the amazing characters that have built the world in prior books (though I haven't read them all yet!). I truly love the books that make up full universes, where it feels like these are people I know and when they reference an inside joke I can laugh because I was there when it was established. It's one of the great joys of reading, in my opinion!
So happy I can now check Hockey Boy by Brittanée Nicole off my Boston Bolts tbr! Now onto the next! Who's with me?
All My Love,
Jane-Anne
