SOME SPOILER-FREE THOUGHTS: This was a quick read / listen that absolutely brightened my entire day! I will always pick up a book that has anything even remotely to do with Scotland, and once again, I was not disappointed. And we weren't even in Scotland for most of the book! Kira Archer has officially been added to my tried-and-true authors list after this read that, while fast-paced in nature, provided great character setup, development, and banter. Plus the audiobook narrator, Pippa Jayne, absolutely crushed it! Can't wait to listen to another one of her narrations!

✨ "She was everything he never wanted. And everything he always needed." ✨

This was a super quick read, so I'm going to keep this a super quick review: I LOVED THIS BOOK! I LOVED IT! I LOVED IT! I LOVED IT!

While the general plot points are classic tropes and setups that I fully adore in romances (he's short-tempered, she's optimistic... his assistant suddenly quits, she's looking for a job... he's a billionaire, she's trying to be financially independent of men... etc. etc.) Archer's approach to the genre is so incredibly unique and quirky that it felt like I'd never experienced any of these tropes before. Where in most books I could expect exactly how a scenario would play out, I had absolutely no idea what any of our characters were going to do next because of how fresh the storytelling was.

We dove right in getting to know our character's quirks and immediately established there is definitely chemistry between the two leads, which I loved. My biggest pet peeve is when it takes me a few chapters to get into the story. I don't have the time for that. lol. Give me some meat and potatoes in my appetizer, I'm hungry!

From there, the story just kept unraveling like a ball of yarn rolling down the longest playground slide with the wildest twists and turns. Despite the fast-paced nature of the story's events, things never felt rushed. Yes, their relationship and feelings developed quickly, but their physical chemistry was established within the first couple of chapters and their forced proximity created an environment for them to skip past the pleasantries and go straight into their personality quirks that they actually liked about each other. It all worked perfectly.

There's so much more depth to this book than I imagined there could be for such a quick read and I could honestly gush about it for many moons longer (hmu on Insta if you wanna chat further about how much you loved it!), so what i'll leave with is this...

This book is perfect for anyone who loves good banter, well thought out characters, fun and bizarre scenarios that aren't totally unrealistic, and steaming hot chemistry!

And for those who download the audiobook, like I did, Pippa Jayne is an absolutely phenomenal narrator!! She so effortlessly swaps between American, English, and Scottish accents bringing life and dimension to all of our characters. If I could, I would give it a sixth star for her narration alone. I have major plans of digging through her catalog and grabbing some audiobooks just to listen to her again!

Truly, madly, deeply, go grab a copy of Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer today! It's just everything we love about romance and reading. The smile hasn't left my face since I finished it, and I doubt it will be gone anytime soon as long as I'm thinking about this book!
